This section is only valid for users who have registered the HighC pro
version.
Registering HighC lets you access features that are needed for using HighC in
a professional context, namely:
- Exporting
pieces as sound samples
- High quality rendering (44kHz). The default rendering quality is 22kHz,
to allow better real time interaction
- Optimized rendering engine, precomputing the output to allow real time
playback.
- Preferences are stored, allowing to
streamline the interaction by restoring the state of the interface each time
the application is launched.
- Access to the support sections of the
HighC user forum. In this section, you can post bug reports and features
requests, as well as obtain precisions on the evolution of HighC.
- Access to free updates for bug fixes and small features additions (only
for the current registered versions).
- In the future, access to some features
specially designed for the integration in the sound production chain.
Registering HighC involves acquiring a registration key from HighC. This
registration is linked to the name of a computer (hostname). This means you can
only use it on the computer for which you registered it, or for its replacement,
should you wish to upgrade your computer or need to repair it. The only
condition for the registration key to keep working on a new or repaired
computer, is that the replacement computer keeps the same name as the original
computer.
To obtain a registration key, the simplest method is to choose
Tools > Registration... and
let you guide by the dialogs:
- First, go to the registration page, by clicking on the "Take me to the
registration page" button.
- When you have registered, you will receive some key information. You
must return to the Help > Registration dialog, press the "Enter the key I
received" button, and copy/paste the registration information that is
provided.
- Finally, you should restart HighC to benefit from the new features. In
case there are registration issues, you can always press the "Check my
registration information" to obtain precisions on the type of license you
have.
More information on how to find and set the name of your computer is given at the time you purchase a pro license, on
this page.
